Can US Tech Infrastructure Support VR Porn Needs?

5G Connection

When you watch VR porn, it takes up a lot of bandwidth. There is a lot of data that gets transmitted to make your virtual reality experience super realistic. This needs a strong signal to get all that smut downloaded to your device. However, some tech experts are wondering if the US tech infrastructure is strong enough to support the broad adoption of VR porn fans.

VR smut definitely needs a 5G connection, one of the best types of connections available to the consumer market today. It reduces lag and freezing, which are much more disruptive in the immersive virtual reality experience than they are with regular media. However, the US is definitely behind other countries as far as how many people have that as an option. Some tech experts believe this is one significant reason why VR and even some AR technologies have not taken off yet. They think that as soon as the US has more 5G availability, we will see more people purchasing VR headsets and using AR technology because they will actually be able to use it.

The theory makes sense. It is totally sensible that people would want to be able to actually use the technology they would like to enjoy! So, why is the US so far behind? Well, it’s not quite as bad as it seems. While they do have less 5G sites than other countries, telecoms businesses are getting up to speed. AT&T launched their 5G network in December of 2018. They say that by 2020 they will have nationwide 5G availability. Verizon 5G is available in areas of Texas, California and Indiana. T-Mobile has 5G available in 30+ cities. So, it is coming. You just have to get a device capable of connecting at 5G speeds, and sign up for the service, then enjoy your lag-free VR porn in peace.
