Kiiroo Onyx+ Interactive Male Masturbator – Sex Toy Review

KIIROO Onyx+ brings a whole new sensory experience to the consumption of your favourite internet past time, that sensation is ‘touch’.

The Oynx+ is a light-weight male masturbator which is quiet, discreet, and actually does what it promises; provides you with the hands-free experience you’ve been longing for.

This is the third-generation Onyx device and this model has a completely different motor configuration that improves sensations. It’s able to reach up to 140 strokes per minute with less noise over previous models, making the sensory experience all the more realistic.

Inside the device are 10 rings that work together to simulate intercourse and stroke up and down. The stroke patterns can be controlled manually, set to one of 5 preset patterns or more excitingly synchronised to your favourite adult video content.

So that’s all the marketing blurb… what’s it really like you ask? Well the team here obviously got hold of one to see if the reality actually lived up to the hype.

Order & Delivery (10/10)

The Kiiroo website was pretty simple to use and also has a cool ‘deal’ wheel currently that spins to reveal a one-time promotion like $5 or 5% off. But you don’t need to worry about that as we’ve negotiated a unique discount for all readers of VR.SEX. Read on…

In terms of delivery we were very impressed as the item arrived on Day 4. We’re based in the UK and the Kiiroo website clearly stated 3 to 5 days for delivery.

And no, you don’t need to worry about the packaging exposing you as a pioneer of virtual sex. Not that there is anything wrong with that thought right?

Safe to say it arrives in a standard brown box with no indication whatsoever of the joy that’s waiting inside.

Unboxing & Contents (7/10)

The packaging is very ‘Apple’ which gives you a feeling that you’ve got a piece of technology in your hands rather than some seedy porn kit which obviously helps with any last-minute anxiety. Items in the box include:

  • Main unit
  • USB Charging cable
  • RealFeel inner sleeve (hygienically sealed)
  • Quick Setup Guide + Warranty Card
  • A couple of discount offers for content sites (FeelXVideos & UFeel.TV)

Charging (6/10)

The instructions suggest that the device be charged for up to 6 hours before initial use. We’ve got to say that felt like an eternity especially as the run-time that follows was advised as up to only 1 hour.

This is clearly one area that needs to be improved but is also understandable considering the motorised movements that are going on inside the device and the related power required.

Main drawback we noticed was that the charging light doesn’t turn off or change colour. So you’ll need patience and one eye on your clock… (we said ‘clock’ ok…)

Usage (7/10)

In anticipation and impatience for the first try we opted to watch some traditional 2D porn. This obviously made getting everything ready much easier but we also tripped over the next obvious gap in what comes with the package, that being ‘lubrication’. Let’s just say it was a pretty tight fit and no, we’re not boasting when we say that.

We suggest something ‘organic’ so that it doesn’t harm the inner sleeve but better yet order one of the Kiiroo’s own brand lubricant as part of your initial purchase. We’ll throw up a link to that in a future update to this article.

The experience was pretty unique but we can’t promise you’ll be trying hard to not bust your nut. The spec’s report that it can pulse at 140 per minute which doesn’t translate into what you’d think would be a virtual hand going faster than your own. That’s probably more to do with the mechanics of the device which attempt to simulate intercourse with vertically-placed rings contracting and releasing in sequence rather than actual ‘up and down’ strokes. However, it was enough to think that it would be worth trying with a full-on immersive setup which is obviously what the device is designed for.

So, for the next attempt we pulled out the Oculus Go and queued up some of our great content to see if that was any better. And, indeed it was. The fact that you can’t see what’s going on and are having a complete hands-free experience (aside from steadying the device on occasion) was transformative. A true virtual sex experience and that was without attempting any of the synchronised content that is available which we’re saving for another test. We’ll write an update on how much better that is in the coming weeks.

Cleaning (10/10)

The fact that there’s an inner sleeve makes this as easy as running the tap and filling it up and draining a few times. Again, caution as to what detergents you use would be sensible.

There are a few comments about how the retaining ring is hard to remove but we didn’t find this at all. Perhaps because we’d done some research beforehand so knew to expect but all you need is a small spoon or a large coin and it’s no hassle at all. And no broken finger nails!

Overall Score (8/10)

If you’re looking to get your first experience of male masturbation devices then we’d highly recommend the Onyx+. It’s an attractive piece of kit and does bring a new twist (or pulse!) to your well-rehearsed routine.

However, go straight for VR. Don’t mess around with 2D content or you’ll miss out on the very real sense of immersion that only a high-end VR headset can provide.

We’ve also managed to secure an exclusive discount for readers of VR Sex. Just key in ‘VRSEX10’ at the checkout to receive a 10% discount on the total cost of your shopping cart. So, there’s no excuse not to order that lubricant with your order but be quick as the offer is only open until 30th June 2020.
