Will “Ultrasound Haptics” Revolutionize VR Porn?
The company Ultrahaptics started in the incubator at Bristol University and is based on research performed by Dr. Tom Carter as a PhD student at the university. Now some tech experts wonder if this technology could have great applications for the porn industry.
What Are Ultrahaptics?
The revolutionary technology uses ultrasound to create three dimensional objects that you can feel – but can’t see. The technology, also known as mid-air haptic feedback, has many applications. In the automotive sphere it can be used to create entertainment controls in the air at eye level so drivers never have to take their eyes off the road. In medical settings, it can save time by offering virtual surfaces for devices that do not have to be cleaned and can not spread deadly germs. Even things like ATMS could benefit from that feature of it – the screens and buttons won’t become germ magnets. At its best, it could create “Minority Report” like virtual screens that pop up when you need them and disappear into nothingness when they are no longer relevant.
Ultrahaptics in Adult
Obviously this type of technology has big implications for the porn industry. Imagine you are watching a VR porn in your headset and you reach your hands out in front of you and you find the perfect butt or set of tits that you are seeing right in the porn video. Or simply imagine using a mid air haptic slider to seamlessly scroll through the porn movies for the best parts without having to find your way back to the computer with a VR device on your head. As of right now, there aren’t any Ultrahaptic products related to porn, but as with most forms of media, sexuality may be a driving force in its development!
